Do you get that feeling when you want to do something you really wanted to do (like going to the toilet..eww bad example, sorry!) but can’t because you have this other responsibility to do (yeah, because going to the toilet wastes precious time when you’re almost done preparing a very complicated dinner).
Well, my life sucks that way everyday…as much as I want to curl up with this…
…but can’t. I have the book just hanging out on my bookshelf…beside THIS one
…which I still haven’t read until now **poor me**
Ever since I stumbled upon the first three books by Cassandra Clare, I’ve been hooked and I can’t stop myself from pulling so many all nighters just so I could read the book. I’ve had many sleepless nights but they were ALL WORTH IT.
That’s the awesome power of Clary and Jace’s somewhat “taboo” love story could get you.
But the there’re still the Infernal Devices ( Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, Clockwork Princess) which to many are like MANNA from heaven, given through an angel named Cassandra Clare.
I can’t stand it, I MUST READ! :))))))

If you haven’t yet read this book then all I can say is: OH-EM-GEE you live under a rock, you’re missing a lot in life!!!
Story goes…Greyden Kane is your typical duke: lusty, hot for woman’s form, looking for redemption and that ever elusive feel of belonging-ness. For that he hides under a mask (uh, literally). He’s so torn and wrecked inside that he couldn’t even let himself be in love with the girl who caught his heart, Rose Danvers. Lucky for him, she reciprocates his love ten-fold (although as love story’s goes, they don’t know yet until the near-ending that they get to say those 143’s and 1433’s). They have great chemistry (first chapter and you’ve got a very hot, hot scene!) and passion is like second-skin/sweat…sex is awesome! But Greyden is torn and it is up to Rose to sew him back up and make him feel like the man she had always thought he was…even without all the trimmings!
Personally…Whoo! High-five! Awesome! Brilliant! Magnificent! Need I say more????
What’s different about this series?
Well for starters, Kathryn Smith had done major input on everything sensual…you might want to turn the AC on hih coz reading this book would surely put El Nino to shame (FYI: El Nino is extreme drought…imagine the heat and dehydration…now THAT’s how the story would leave you **hyperbole** 🙂 ).
Anyway…I just found that the characters really had an in depth relationship with each other–not just because they’re lusting after the other–but because they are in a LOT OF WAYS involved with one another. Greyden knew Rose’s father and Rose had always looked up to her father, until the day the looked-upon father put shame on their name–but without them knowing the real story behind it aside from Greyden himself. Rose was personified here as a “somewhat” innocent (although I know many would disagree), she seeks for what she wants by herself. She’s brave, spirited, strong-willed, dedicated and dumb.
Sorry for the irony but if we base it on reality (well, yeah going back to historical times then…), girls Rose’s age wouldn’t be thinking of what Rose did (pretend to be a hooker and let herself into the devil’s lair…and made him have his way with her). Somehow, women would ALWAYS manage to find a way to attract their mate. What Rose had decided and done upon herself was just something that would normally backfire the wrong way.
But this is fiction!
And the simple fact that Ms. Kathryn Smith placed a plot that had me hanging on to every scene and every word…the effect was simply ROMANTIC!
What a way to start a FEBRUARY!
So have you read the book? What did you think about it? Tell me what you think!

The first bookMate Set was amazing. Then here comes this and Laurann Dohner just made me fall in love with her! This is the best PNR story I have ever read! (going to my all-time fave list!)
Story: this book is all about Anton, the older brother aside from Grady, from the intimidating family of werewolf shifters. In this story Shannon catches Anton’s attention when he finds her nestled on top of a tree, running for her life to escape murderous dogs out to get her delightful feline ass. Anton finds himself curious and intrigued that a woman could climb so high! Only then does he find out that persuading the little human to come down to safety was a big mistake for the moment she fell on his arms, he knew that he was immediately in deep shit. Shannon was clearly feline and there’s nothing more chewable for a dog, than a terrified feline. To make matters worse: she’s clingy, she’s really terrified, she smells absolutely arousing–and it’s mating heat.
First: the sex? H.O.T. Really, truly, outstandingly, out of this world H.O.T. Better turn the AC on high coz reading this will bring summer heat to a whole new level!
Second: the chemistry. Damn, they’re enemies for crying out loud! Imagine Mr. & Mrs. Smith and put some sexy heat in paranormal levels and you’ve got an explosion that will put atomic bombs to shame.
Third: the family. Definitely a huge contingent in the midst of their L.O.V.E..but on this book, I so wanted to punch his father…mmm maybe a brother or two (not Grady coz he’s happily settled with his mate!) and I would love to put his stepmother in a bag, tie a knot around it connected to a large boulder, then throw the whole “baggage” off a cliff…or ocean. Not to forget; the feline wannabe saviors only to find out they’re complete
Fourth: the L.U.V. Wow. Just wow. It’s somehow lust and lust and love but I read a book once that said love is often borne from lust. Well, there couldn’t be a happy relationship without explosive sexual attraction to always spice things up, is there?! (I don’t know, you tell me!)
There’s just something about wild animal instinct let loose during mating season/time–mixed with two warring characters–that makes the outcome hot, wild, fierce…everything that a
erotic book should give to a reader. But Ms. Laurann is such that she’s so excellente at painting scenes and making her characters come to life–there are a lot here that you would just love to strangle and kill and totally evict off the story–but that makes it all the more a money-worth read!
A sure read that will make your toes curl and make you want to beat up your pillow (trust me, I did!) because of the infuriating characters the story boasts…I want more Mating Heat!!!
