First off…WHOAH! The cover simply left me breathless! I so LOVE it and I can’t believe I just heard about this now!! Now this book is definitely going to my MUST-READ list or else I’m gonna go crazy.
Well, I’ve been following Delilah Devlin’s My Immortal Knight series and even though there were some books along the series/sequel that lacked much needed scenes to really show the story had been going at and there were a lot of hurried pacings. But anyway, all still went smoothly and started getting VERY interesting during their conflict between the **SPOILER! if you STILL haven’t read ANY** mutant vampires (conflict started if I’m not mistaken around book Relentless)…and yeah, you heard me. MUTANT.
I really liked the flow of the story especially after Joe Garcia (from Book Endless Knight) started his adventure; the time when things started to get very interesting and so out of the usual paradigm. Although I’ve also read some books with the same idea that Ms. Devlin had. Well..depends with the writer, really.
Anyway…MUST READ! :)))

Don’t mind the cover, just read the book!
Imagine the hero as you see fit and not how the book cover,coz honestly…jeez… instead of enticing, it scared the beejezus out of me. It sure did!
Storyline: On the trail of a serial killer, vampire Quentin Albermarle is mistaken for the killer by a police special task force. Once the smoke clears, Quentin finds himself in a delicious position-atop one of the unit’s crack officers, Darcy Henry. In need of Quentin’s access to the vampire sub-culture, the task force leadership invites Quentin to join the crime unit as a special advisor, much to the chagrin of the men in the unit, and especially, of Darcy. A no-nonsense cop with no time for romance, Darcy suddenly finds herself embroiled in a steamy love triangle between her mortal partner, Joe, and the handsome vampire. Going from abstinence to wantonness, she is unable to resist the two men’s relentless seduction or her own sensual curiosity about a vampire’s special “kiss”. When the real killer threatens the life of someone close to her, Darcy makes a choice that forever binds the three of them together.
Oh I really, really DISLIKED the ending! It was so cold despite the hot sex that concluded then! How could they do that to Joe? Poor Joe! But his story will be the next one All Knight Long and I can’t wait to read it!!!

First book of Ms. Devlin’s My Immortal Knight series…interesting. Ms. Devlin had opted for an imperfect heroine to a perfect vampire-hero–that’s really cool. And the H/H’s personalities contradicts each other that I had almost not seen the connection the two lust-driven protagonist could have…but they did!
Storyline: Emmaline Harris meets the perfect man at a Halloween party. After he rescues her from the unwanted attentions of another partygoer, she succumbs to his kisses and spends an evening engaged in wicked-sexy lovemaking. Sure she’s just a one-night stand, she tries to exit gracefully, but soon find she needs Dylan’s special skills when her world is turned upside down by a blood-drinking killer and his gang who target her for their next meal. Dylan O’Hara only wants a night of passion to slake his sexual needs, but finds Emmy is a full-bodied, red-blooded siren whose innocence and humor draws this Master vampire like a moth to a red-hot flame. When Emmy attracts the attention of a serial-killing vampire, Dylan vows to protect her, but he fears he’ll lose Emmy once she discovers her “Dracula” has real fangs!
I would really miss this serial-killing vampire coz I KNOW he will meet a devastating end due to all the crimes he had done. Ms. Devlin’s erotic compositions are super hot! I mean…damn!

Tales from the Temple 3 Anthology by Delilah Devlin, Anya Bast, Diana Hunter, Cheyenne McCray, Mary Wine, Sherri L. King
What’s better than a book…take Anthologies! Stories in one! Among all the books, the one that I enjoyed the most was Sherri L. King’s Voyeurs Overexposed, which was a real humorous one among the story theme. Delilah Devlin as always makes the most engaging story in her Raptor’s Prey. There’s something about reading anthologies that is both fun and efficient. It’s like a book-spree but with different authors under a similar genre built to make the reader feel well-loved!
The first bookMate Set was amazing. Then here comes this and Laurann Dohner just made me fall in love with her! This is the best PNR story I have ever read! (going to my all-time fave list!)
Story: this book is all about Anton, the older brother aside from Grady, from the intimidating family of werewolf shifters. In this story Shannon catches Anton’s attention when he finds her nestled on top of a tree, running for her life to escape murderous dogs out to get her delightful feline ass. Anton finds himself curious and intrigued that a woman could climb so high! Only then does he find out that persuading the little human to come down to safety was a big mistake for the moment she fell on his arms, he knew that he was immediately in deep shit. Shannon was clearly feline and there’s nothing more chewable for a dog, than a terrified feline. To make matters worse: she’s clingy, she’s really terrified, she smells absolutely arousing–and it’s mating heat.
First: the sex? H.O.T. Really, truly, outstandingly, out of this world H.O.T. Better turn the AC on high coz reading this will bring summer heat to a whole new level!
Second: the chemistry. Damn, they’re enemies for crying out loud! Imagine Mr. & Mrs. Smith and put some sexy heat in paranormal levels and you’ve got an explosion that will put atomic bombs to shame.
Third: the family. Definitely a huge contingent in the midst of their L.O.V.E..but on this book, I so wanted to punch his father…mmm maybe a brother or two (not Grady coz he’s happily settled with his mate!) and I would love to put his stepmother in a bag, tie a knot around it connected to a large boulder, then throw the whole “baggage” off a cliff…or ocean. Not to forget; the feline wannabe saviors only to find out they’re complete
Fourth: the L.U.V. Wow. Just wow. It’s somehow lust and lust and love but I read a book once that said love is often borne from lust. Well, there couldn’t be a happy relationship without explosive sexual attraction to always spice things up, is there?! (I don’t know, you tell me!)
There’s just something about wild animal instinct let loose during mating season/time–mixed with two warring characters–that makes the outcome hot, wild, fierce…everything that a
erotic book should give to a reader. But Ms. Laurann is such that she’s so excellente at painting scenes and making her characters come to life–there are a lot here that you would just love to strangle and kill and totally evict off the story–but that makes it all the more a money-worth read!
A sure read that will make your toes curl and make you want to beat up your pillow (trust me, I did!) because of the infuriating characters the story boasts…I want more Mating Heat!!!
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Another anthology! Beyond the Dark is an anthology of H&H in a demon world setting. And there’s also Lora Leigh’s Breed’s story! Woot!
Dragon Dance by Angela Knight:
Ms. Knight always offers the most extra-spectacular for everyone to enjoy. Her story revolves around a world wherein humans have been found to have innate superpowers that made them extra special, unique and dangerous–calls them, ‘Hyper’. Some uses their skills to help the police catch those who abuse theirs. Arial is a negotiator who found she had a special power that came late after a run-in with a ‘Hyper’ but instead of her being made mad by her new-found talent Josiah a Hyper-tracker found her and aided her along. In Arial’s fight to master her skill with the aide of Josiah, their attraction to each other gets under their skin, not to mention the powers inside them that seems to be egging them on. But amidst their undeniable passion lurks an evil power that’s just watching and waiting for them to leave a hole in their defense. In the end, the truth about their ‘powers’ would be revealed, and Ms. Knight regales us again with a really hot, out of this world story.–I really enjoyed the story and if Ms. Knight would make a book that explains this story’s world, coupled with which unlucky pair get caught in it–would make a great read indeed!
Caught by the Tides by Diane Whiteside:
The story is set sometime during the French and English war. But here, the fight exists with supernatural alliances wherein people use their magic to fight with the other. Emma lives off the coast and gets a surprise when the tides brought in Owen, a gryphon elementalist, who serves for the Crown against Bonaparte. Emma doesn’t know that she herself is an elemental–a chalice (with a brimful of unused power)–Owen finds the woman who has no idea how much she could impact the result of the war with which side she decides to fight for. Especially since there seemed to be a traitor in their midst. Their attraction for each other was the key and the two not only makes perfect love but also perfect magic to win the war and stop the storm that raged over the lone island.–Wow. Just wow. The story was hot but in an inspirational/sweet way that would make anyone smile.
Queen of all She Surveys by Emma Holly:
First off: this story has some MFFFFF/MMMMMF action and implication, but only at the start. The story revolves around god-like personas–namely our H&H–Queen Tou and Memnon, son of a mighty
sexual king. Queen Tou and Memnon are both god-blessed and here, Memnon, the son of the King Ravna of the other warring kingdom was defeated at a war on a particular land. As a war-offering, King Ravna ordered his son Memnon, to play harem-boy for Queen Tou, adding to her already large collection of men needed to appease her god-like sexual appetite. Memnon too also have the same god-touched ailment and right then they know they found the answer to their “harem-problem”. Love found from lust and Memnon comes to care for Queen Tou and Tou as well, who found retribution in Memnon’s arms. Then King Ravna puts salt in Memnon’s already wounded ego by trying to use him against the woman he had come to love. Memnon then chooses Tou and aides her against his tyrannical father–right after what Queen Tou had undergone under King Ravna’s reign.–Well, the mmmmmf had been disturbing put me off guard for I never really imagined it to go that way. But all in all, the story was piping hot!
In A Wolf’s Embrace (Breeds #13) by Lora Leigh:
Not that I’m stating favorites but–this was freaking awesome! As always from a Breeds story by Ms. Lora. Matthias plan goes kerblooey when Grace comes in and catches him killing a man. technically the man had been responsible in some heinous crimes on Breeds species and now Matthias must convince Grace that what he had done was for the good of all. Grace is convinced that the man she had come to know and care for, even felt more than she should especially with all the times they were together–thinking all of it were fallacy, was the lowest of low. He killed a man. Granted that the man deserved to die but he still killed him. Matthias abducts her in hopes of securing her to him, keeping her safe from harm (murderers were after their asses after the kill), and convince her that he was a good guy and that he was the one for her. The time they spent together meant everything to him–she meant everything to him. Passion is their aide and as Grace surrenders to their attraction, the consequences soon start to arise. Not to mention the promise of death still hanging over their head.–I loved reading the story again and again and again (5 at max). There is something extremely romantic when a guy confesses his passion for a woman and the iron-hard indication of possession. ‘My woman’, ‘Mine’…with mated pairs these are relevant and part of the magic. Every woman would love to have a man to be loyal to them and not look at any other mini-skirt clad butt. But in reality, women might hate clingy (oh, the irony!) men, but the way Lora Leigh had depicted the story made the passion of possession all the more hotter, sweeter and true!
~~~~~ For the coming December month, I rose to the occasion and made December purchases. I confess a love for anthologies especially showcasing those stories around Christmastime! Check out my book lists of the different Christmas-time anthologies I found and tell me what you think…
To know whether a book is any good, wait up for a review for I sure will write something in each–even if it seemed rather tedious… 🙂
